Reminders:
Thank you for helping your child remember to return his/her Homework folder each day.  There will be daily math homework (except for Fun Friday) so please help your child get into the routine of completing homework each night and returning it the next day.

We will have PE on Mondays and Fridays.  Please make sure that your child has clean (washed and scrubbed) or new (not worn outside) gym shoes.  Your first grader can just keep those shoes in the backpack so there is no need to remember them each time.  Shoes for PE cannot be worn outside in order to protect our new gym floor.

Your child may bring a water bottle to school to drink during the day.  Please send a bottle that has a sippy-type lid that pops up to keep spills to a minimum.

Please look in your child's purple Friday folder for important notes and work from this week.  Please mark the church/Sunday school attendance and initial so I know you have looked at the Friday folder.  Please help your child get into the routine of returning it every Monday.

Our theme for this year is SHINE.  In our classroom, we talked about what it means to shine.  When we turn away from God and sin, it is as if we are living in darkness.  But God worked a beautiful miracle when we were baptized.  He washed away our sin, thanks to Jesus' redeeming work on the cross.  God made us new creations, shining with the light of faith.
