News and Notes:

Maternity Leave
If I don't have the baby by Tuesday, I will be induced that evening so my maternity leave will start Wednesday.  My doctor feels it is best to get the baby outside in the world since he is ready.  I appreciate all of your prayers and support during this exciting, but uncertain time for me!  This is all very new and I look forward to learning about my role as a mom.  I will bring the baby to visit the class when the doctor approves it!  :-)

National Lutheran Schools Week
We will have some fun dress days and celebrate being a Lutheran school along with others across the nation!  January 27-31
Monday - Western/Cowboy Day. Dress in cowboy attire with jeans!  Collaborative Art Project
Tuesday - Crazy Weather day -Dress for a rainstorm, snowstorm, any other crazy weather.  Jeans optional.  Online Mission Trip
Wednesday - PJ Day - Wear pjs or sweats.  Chris Cakes will be serving us a pancake breakfast!
Thursday -Olympic Day - Dress as an athlete or in gear from your favorite country.  Jeans optional.
Friday -Red/White Out Day - Wear as much red and white as you can to show school spirit.  Jennie Williamson concert at 9:30am.

Great Skate
Join your fellow Zion classmates for  night of fun and skating to help rise money for the PTL!  This event will take place on Saturday, February 1st from 5:15-7:15pm. The cost is $6 for general admission plus $3 for skate rental.

Early Release
Wednesday, February 12th is a half day for the students.

Valentines Day
We will be making our valentine boxes here at school. Each child may bring valentines to hand out. Please include one for each child in our class. No candy is allowed due to our peanut policy. Our party will be February 14th.

We Sing
On February 29th, we sing at the 5:00pm church service. Please mark your calendars. The boys and girls always sound so nice!

Grandparents Day

Grandparents/VIP Day is scheduled for Friday, March 6th from 8am-11am. Please plan on having a grandparent or special guest attend. Your child must have an adult with them present.
8-8:30am Arrive anytime between 8-8:30 with your adult.
8-9:45am Guests and students stay together and spend time at various activities. A map will go home with students and extra maps will be available that day. Family units can decide where they want to start. *Zion asks that you stay together as a family unit for proper supervision.*
9:45-10am Guests and students travel to church sanctuary
10-11am Closing program and Chapel
11:00am Dismissal (from the church sanctuary)
