News and Notes:
We Sing
We sing in church this Sunday, October 7, at the 10:30 service. Please have your child in the upstairs music room at 10:20 to warm up. After the service, you may pick your child up from the Welcome Center in the back of the church.
Harvest Party
We will have our Harvest Party on October 15th. Our service project will be preparing care packages for deployed soldiers. Thank you for signing up to provide items! Please send in all the items by October 11th.
Apple Day
We will celebrate apples and the life of Johnny Appleseed on Tuesday, October 16th. Helpers are needed from 8:00-10am. I have Groeteke and Gould signed up for that day to help. Please let me know if you are no longer able to help. I could also use other helpers, so please email me if you are able to help. Please send an apple with your child that day!
Botanical Gardens Field Trip
Field trip to the Botanical Gardens on Wednesday, October 17th. Please read, fill out and return the permission form in your child's Friday folder.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
You will be able to sign up for your conference time on Monday, October 8th. Conferences will be ALL DAY on Thursday, October 18th. October 19th will be a Fall Break Day.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon week is a week that we talk about healthy choices and habits. This week is dedicated to drug prevention. Regular dress code applies to all dress dos except for the special day's theme.

On Wednesday, October 24 we will be having a special offering. In honor of Drew Albrittons’ 9th birthday, we will be collecting superhero items that will be delivered to Friends of Kids with Cancer.
Drew was a preschooler here at Zion who bravely fought cancer and now is with the biggest superhero of all, Jesus!
Please bring your superhero items to chapel on Wednesday, October 24. Action figures, costumes, toys, movies, backpacks, Lego sets, video games, shirts, or any items with a super hero theme are all welcome.
