Scholastic Book Club
Book orders magazines will be sent home with your child on Monday.   Orders are due Saturday, October 11th.  Please go online to order your books.  The class activation code is GVN8W.  Go to this link when ordering: https://orders.scholastic.com/GVN8W


Leveled Reading Books
Please return the leveled readers on Friday.  A new leveled reader will come home every Monday. 

Please make sure your child reads this book ALOUD 3-4 times.  These books are used to work on fluency.  To build fluency you need to read the same passage a number of times.

Reading Calendar

Remember the reading calendar has the current month and you can write on the calendar how many times your child spends reading each day.  If your child reads at least 4x each week that month, your child can pick out a free book/map.  A new calendar was sent home last week for October.

Toilet Paper Tube

Please write your child's name on the inside of a toilet paper tube and send it to school before October 15th.  We will use it for a Harvest party craft.

CAR
If your child has CAR written on top of a paper, that paper need to be Corrected And Returned on Monday.  Thank you for helping your child with their learning.

Parent Conferences

Parent Conference schedules are in the Friday folder.  Please read the letter and confirm that you are able to meet at the time noted by returning the bottom portion of the paper on Monday.  I look forward to meeting with you on Thursday, October 16th.

Johnny Appleseed Day
We will celebrate Johnny Appleseed day on Tuesday, Oct. 14th.  We will need 6 parent helpers from 9-11:30am.  Please let me know if you can help that day.

We Sing!
We sing in church on Sunday, October 26th at 11:00am.  Please mark your calendar.

Muffins for Moms
Wednesday, November 5th, Moms meet in the church basement between 7 and 7:45am to enjoy a muffin with your child(ren).  Everyone is also welcome to stay for Chapel immediately following.
