News and Notes:

Thank You
A BIG THANK YOU to the parents who chaperoned the field trip.  We had great weather, good presentations, planted seeds, and exploring the garden was so much fun, too!  Take a look at all the pictures from the field trip at the end of the blog.  Wednesdays and Saturday mornings before noon, the Botanical Garden is free.  Feel free to go back as a family!

Leveled Reading Books
On Monday your child will bring home a book that is on your child's level based on Mrs. Masa's DRA.  Your child should be able to read it with minimal help.  Please have your child read these books each week.  They should even read them several times to build fluency and self confidence.  Initial on the Reading log next to the title and feel free to leave comments for me on your child's progress. Please keep the log in your child's folder so that I can fill out a new title each week.  Send the books back on Fridays.  Each week your child will receive a new book.

Harvest Party Service Project
We have plans for our first service project this year to visit the FISH pantry on October 15th.  A flyer was sent home today in the Friday folder courtesy of Mrs. Coplin.  Look for a permission form to come home next week.  We will be collecting items listed on the flyer.  The boys and girls will be creating donation boxes for our collections.

Picture Retake Day
Picture retake day is scheduled for October 1. If you want your child to have their picture retaken, please send the original photo package in with them on Wednesday. If you missed final registration day, your child will bring home a picture order form for you to fill out.
