Substitute on Friday
We will be having a substitute teacher on Friday, November 15th. Once again, I need to meet with my Health Curriculum team to continue writing the guidelines for the St. Louis area schools. Our sub will be Heather Horn (Aidan's mother) and we look forward to having her!
School Supplies
Please check with your first grader on his/her school supplies. Many of us seem to be low (or missing) glue sticks and dry erase markers.
World Sport Cup Stacking Day
On Thursday, Nov 14th, we will be participating in breaking the world record of people stacking cups on one day. We will be stacking cups from 1:15-1:45. Please make sure your child has gym shoes in his/her backpack. If you can help Mrs. Steinbacher, please email her at: msteinbacher@zionharvester.org
Thanksgiving Food Drive
On Wednesday, Nov. 27th, your child may bring in canned or boxed goods to provide Thanksgiving dinners to 30 seminarians. Our offerings for the month of November will go to buy the turkeys.
TWB Contest (Together We're Better)
Please remember to use TWB to buy your gift certificates! There is a contest next week to see which class can buy the most gift certificates. Think about Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping! Winning class gets an ice cream party.
Zion's Annual Auction
A LOT of info is below about the Auction. Please read carefully.
Save the date: April 4, 2014! Plans are underway for the 2014 Zion School auction at the Columns Banquet Center in St. Charles.
Technology Drive:
Starting November 11-22, 2013, we will hold a Technology Drive for Zion school families. We are asking for cash or check donations, which will be used to purchase cutting edge technology products that you won’t want to miss at the auction! For example - iPad Air, PS4, Nook, etc.
Please send oral auction check (made out to the Zion PTL) or cash donations to school starting November 11, 2013 through November 22, 2013. Donations should be given to your child’s teacher in a sealed envelope marked “Oral Auction Donation”.
Those envelopes are in your child's Friday folder. Donations of all amounts are greatly appreciated. We are hoping to raise enough money to purchase at least three technology items for the oral auction. You will definitely want to be in on the bidding war for these hot technology tools.
Auction Round-Up:
Our school-wide auction round-up is scheduled for January 27 – February 7. Be on the lookout for those after-holiday sales! Toys, games, household items and décor, sporting goods (jerseys, equipment, etc.), kitchen gadgets, and outdoor equipment are all great ideas to donate!
