News and Notes:

Thanksgiving Break
We will have a short week this week.  School will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday.  There will be no school on Thursday or Friday.  We will have a mini celebration on Wednesday as a class.  Enjoy your time together with family and friends!

Thanksgiving Service
Zion has a Thanksgiving church service on Wednesday night at 7:00pm and Thursday morning at 9:00am.  We have so much to thank God for!

Advent Service
We lead the Advent Worship service on Wednesday, December 18th at 10 am and 7 pm.
Each child has an individual speaking part.  It is very important that your child learns his/her speaking part. The speaking parts are in your child's homework folder and learning the part loud and slow is crucial.  This is also the Memory Work for the week of December 2nd.  At the 10 am service your child should just wear the school uniform and for the 7 pm service your child may wear church clothes or school uniform.

Practicing at Home
Please work with your child on Memory Work each week.  The last couple of weeks, the boys and girls have struggled and I have to send them back to continue to practice.  If your child doesn't know it by lunch time on Friday, he/she hasn't earned the full 10 points.
Spelling is also becoming more challenging.  The pattern words now count as part of the weekly assessment.  Please make words at home that fit the pattern so that your child feels confident during the spelling test.

Happy Thanksgiving
I want to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.  I am thankful to be at Zion and have the opportunity to get to know your child.  Each day is a new adventure as we continue to grow and learn together.  We owe all of our thanks to God.  He always provides, protects, forgives and loves.
