NEWS AND NOTES:

Leveled Reading Books:

There has been some confusion about the leveled reading books that come home in your child's folder each week that I hope to clarify now. These books are on the level that your child is reading in Guided Reading groups. They have a Zion label stamped on the front. They are also listed on your chid's Reading Log in the folder. The title will be written in the log one time (hopefully by me but once in a while I forget) and all you need to do is initial if they read it and you may comment on how they did. You do not need to write the title in again or any other book titles. This reading log is just for me to keep track of what books I send home for your child each week and your initials tells me that they read it. Your child should be reading this book every day to build fluency. Please return these books by the end of the week. Another one will be sent home each Monday. The Reading Calendar in your child's folder is different. That is for you to keep track of your child reading 10-15 minutes 4x's a week. Sorry for the confusion!

Peanut Lunch:

Please remember to put the red clip on lunches that contain peanut butter or peanut products. If is hard to tell the difference between some of the butters and the children don't always know. Thank you!

Orange Book Bags:

The orange Book Bags must be returned on or before each Monday. If you read all the books before the weekend feel free to send it back sooner. The Book Bags will come home on Tuesdays.

Picture Re-takes:

Picture retakes are Thursday, October 4. If you didn't get pictures on registration day a form is in your child's Friday Folder. If you want retakes please send back the original pictures on Thursday.

Parent/Teacher Conference:

PARENT CONFERENCE DAY is OCTOBER 18.

Teachers will be scheduling the parent conferences Wednesday after school at our faculty meeting. The teachers will schedule families with more than 1 student so that your conferences will be consecutive. I will then send home your scheduled time in the Friday Folder.
