Thank you so much for the very fun baby shower! I was so surprised! I was told many of the kids knew and no one said a word. Your kids are good at keeping secrets! Thank you so much for the Pack & Play and the Baby monitor. Those will be so helpful for us. I really appreciate the Target gift card, too. My favorite is the book of advice from the kids as I so enjoy reading their thoughts and ideas. Thank you so very much! I am overwhelmed by all of your generosity!
Service Project Field Trip
We have been practicing our songs for our field trip to Lake St. Charles Nursing Home. Mrs. Holz taught us sign language for Silent Night, too! We have many parents able to go with us: Alexander, Bergeron, Braswell, Frahlman, Hamilton, Holz, Schmidt, Stockstill, Swofford, Williams, and Wozniak. PLEASE DROP YOUR CHILD'S CAR SEAT OFF IN THE MORNING! Children can wear red Zion t-shirts and dress bottoms.
We have Chapel at 8:30 that morning. We should be done by 9:30. We will aim to use the bathroom and leave at 9:45am. Chaperones, you are welcome to go to Chapel with us or arrive by 9:30 for car assignments and to load car seats. Because we have so many, I may double drivers up. Looking forward to sharing the love of Jesus and the news of His birth with the residents!
Advent Service
We will lead worship this Wednesday, December 18th at 10am and 7pm.
For the morning service, children should wear just school dress code. For the evening, feel free to wear church clothes or school dress code. Please bring your child to the church basement that evening at 6:50pm. If you decide to come earlier, please do not leave your child unattended in the church basement if teachers are not there yet. After the service, your child will be waiting for you in the Welcome Center. We are excited to share the message of Jesus birth! We will be singing mostly on the pulpit side of the church!
100th Day Celebration
We will celebrate our 100th day of school in a couple of months, but we need to plan ahead. Please save your cereal boxes and send them to school.
Maternity Sub
Miss Paige Borcherding will be filling in for me while I am gone for my maternity leave. Miss Borcherding has completed her student teaching at Zion with Miss Bevirt, and is a wonderful teacher. She will graduate from Concordia Seward next week and is excited to fill in at Zion 2nd semester. The plan is for Miss Borcherding to be here the entire 2nd semester. I will be back at the end of the school year to help with a few things to close out the year. The students will love her as their teacher, and she is so looking forward to this opportunity.
Soldier Thank You
One of the soldiers we sent a care package to, Will, sent us a couple of pictures and his gratitude for a wonderful care package!
