Report Cards
Third quarter ended today, Friday, March 9th.  Report cards will be sent home next Friday.  I will contact you after report cards are sent home if I would like to meet with you.  If you would like to have a conference, please contact me to set up a t time after report cards have gone home.  It's hard to believe we are already in the last quarter of first grade.  :-)

New Student
Next week, we will have a new student in our classroom.  Her name is Ellie and we are so excited.  Her family moved here from CO and she is the cousin of Andrew in our class.  She came to visit our room on Wednesday,  met the students, and hung out with us all morning.  I know the boys and girls will work to make her transition smooth and welcoming!

Keeping our Hands to Ourselves
The boys in our class have struggled lately to keep their hands to themselves throughout the day.  If your child struggles, a chart will be sent home for you to see it was a struggle that day.  I am hoping that putting it visually in front of them will help in working towards the goal of respecting others.

We looked at MANY of Georgia O'Keefe's flowers!  We noticed she zooms in close, uses lots of colors and makes them look real!
