News and Notes:

Book Fair

The book fair will be at school and the first graders will have a chance to visit as a class on Wednesday.  They can bring money to buy books then or they can preview, make a list to bring home, and wait until Grandparents Day to buy something.  There will also be WISH LIST books for our classroom.  Just look for the tub with my name on it and those are books that can be purchased as gifts for us to read at school!

Scholastic Book Order
Your child has a scholastic book order packet in the Friday folder.  Books make great Easter Basket gifts!  Orders are due March 9th.  Please go online to order your books.  The class activation code is GVN8W.  Go to this link when ordering:https://orders.scholastic.com/GVN8W

Grandparents/Special Friend Day
Grandparents or Special Friend Day is scheduled for Friday, March 9th from 8-11am.  PLEASE RETURN THE PERMISSION FORM IF YOU HAVEN'T YET.
8:00-8:30 - Arrive to school
8:00-9:45 - Guests and students stay together and visit various stations around the school.  A map went home with the students and extra maps will be available that day.  Family units decide
where they want to start.  Each classroom will have a special activity.
**Zion asks that you stay together as a family unit for proper supervision.**
9:45-10:00 - Guests and students travel to church sanctuary
10:00-11:00 - Closing program and Chapel
11:00am - Dismissal from the church
This is a little different than in past years.  The family unit will stay together the whole time.  The students will arrive with the grandparents or special friend and go right into the schedule of various stations in the classrooms.  If you have any questions, please ask.

**Please do not send in backpacks that day.  Friday folders will come home on Thursday.**

From Mrs. Steinbacher:
Zion Bobcats excel in generosity once again!  Our students and their supportive families and fiends have raised over eighteen thousand dollars this year for the life saving work of the American Heart Association.  Thank you students for your outstanding job and thank you volunteers for helping our events run smoothly.  God has truly blessed our Zion community with a spirit of generosity.

Thank You!
Thank you for the wonderful birthday celebration on Monday!  The flowers are all beautiful!  The TWB certificate was very thoughtful!  The Skittles were yummy too!
