Fun Days
We will be having some special days next week to culminate our last week of school.
MONDAY - Read-a-thon - Bring up to 5 books and a cozy blanket to read by ourselves or with friends in our classroom
TUESDAY - Game Day - Bring a game to play with friends at school (no video or iPad games, please)
WEDNESDAY - Movie Day - We will watch The Trumpet of the Swam because we just finished reading the book!

Animal Shelter
The boys and girls have been working so hard on creating an animal shelter after taking a virtual field trip there and coming up with a list of things we need to create a shelter.  The boys and girls can bring in stuffed animals for our shelter starting Monday.  They can bring in a dog, cat, or rabbit.  Please no other animals, as we noticed we did not see any other kinds during the video.

No Hot Lunch
There will be no hot lunch next week.  Milk, juice and assorted snacks will be available for 50¢.  Cash only, please.  Students will need a cold lunch the last week of school.

Big Bag on Wednesday
Please send in a large bag for your child to bring home his/her desk stuff on Wednesday.

Reading Calendars
Reading Calendars are due next week.  I know the month of May will not be complete, so I will just see the days we have had so far.

Last Day
Thursday, May 25th is our last day of school.  The children DO NOT need their backpacks on Thursday.  Please join us for Chapel and Awards Ceremony starting at 8:15am.  We will say Good-bye in our classroom.  School is dismissed at 10am.

We went to the 2-4th grade Spelling Bee!

We worked in teams to create a camping Triarama!   We had to think of things we would need and want on our camping trip.

Working hard on our teaching stories!

Building, Building, Building!

We learned about John Glick and used clay
to create a pinch pot.

We went on a virtual field trip to an Animal Shelter and recorded all the things we saw there.

Then we decided what to make for our own Animal Shelter!

Food and Water Bowls

Crates

A Vet Table

An Exercise Area

A Cat Cage Play Area

We are synthesizing the stories we read.
We keep track of how our thoughts and ideas change during the story!

We are working on making the most exciting sentence ever!
We have added a noun, adjective and verb.
We aren't done yet!

Mr. Cooseman came in and showed us his
Chinese Spouting Bowl.  It was so cool!
He let us try it out, too!

Mrs. Steinbacher says we do really well in our Kickball Game!

It was a great LAST full week of school.  :-)
