News and Notes:
Thank You
Thank you for your generous gift for my birthday. The flowers are beautiful, the gift certificate so thoughtful, and the treats very yummy! Spending your birthday with young children who are so excited to celebrate makes turning 41 not so bad. :-)
Grandparents/VIP Day
Students will celebrate this fun day on Friday, March 10th! Students come to classrooms as usual and grandparents/VIPs will go to the church basement. Special guests will be brought over to the school and pick up ALL students in that family and enjoy various activities in the main school building. A map will be given out to see where the special activities take place.
Students will be dismissed from the church. If the special guest is NOT taking the student home, please come into the church to pick up your child at 11:15.
Please return the Dismissal Consent Form ASAP if you haven't already so that I know how your child should be dismissed on this day.
Backpacks
Please DO NOT sent backpacks to school on Friday. Friday folders will come home on Thursday.
Book Fair
On Wednesday, we will go to the Book Fair. If your child would like to purchase a book, please send money in an envelope with your child's name on it. We will help your child make purchases. Please see the Flyer in the Friday folder. Children can also go to the Book Fair with their grandparent/VIP on Friday, March 10th.
Scholastic Book Order for March
Book Orders were sent home for March. Please go online to order! Books make healthy additions to Easter Baskets! Orders are due Wednesday, March 8th. Use activation code GVN8W. Go to this link when ordering: scholastic.com/readingclub
Lice
As of Wednesday, the nurse said we were lice free. I would still continue to check your child's hair for the next week just to be sure. We have been bagging up our coats and backpacks each day to prevent spreading, but the nurse said we no longer need to do that. Please inform me if you notice any new nits in your child's hair and we will have the nurse check us again. She hasn't checked since Wednesday so it would be up to you to find anything new. Thank you for your patience and team work in this matter! It has been quite an exciting week!

On Ash Wednesday, we wrote down a sin...
put it in the bag...

We used the ashes to make a sign of the cross

It reminds us that Jesus died for our sins.
