Valentines Celebration
Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to chaperone and drive to Villages of St. Peters on Thursday. If you indicated that you would drive, I have you down to come with us. Please arrive at 9:15. The students will just be coming back a few minutes earlier from Music so we will use the bathroom and leave ASAP.
When we return, we will need to go to lunch at 11, so we will celebrate with our classmates in the afternoon. We will take our spelling test and finish our valentine boxes after lunch. We will end our day with our class celebration from about 2-2:45. We will pass out valentines and enjoy a valentine treat.
Jumprope for Heart
First graders will participate on Friday, Feb.19th 8:10-9:10. Please send any sponsor forms and money by Friday. Mrs. Steinbacher could use some parent volunteers. If you can help her, please email her this weekend: msteinbacher@zionharvester.org
Note from Mr. Debrick

Jump Rope in PE
We wrote letters to the children in Guatemala.
We told them: Jesus Loves You!
Miss Sherman has visited Guatemala twice.
She showed us pictures of children she met and
showed us the way that they live.
Looking for parts of a story that INFORM us.
Playing our AR game
Making words with long and short o
Mrs. Helmkamp taught us how to record our voice
so we can hear ourselves reading.
We are working on making our stories come alive!
We read our stories to our partners and changed our
voices when someone was talking.
We created Jim Dine inspired hearts
We will add them to our valentine boxes next week!
Miss Sherman taught us a Doubles Plus One
match-up game!
We tried to match the problems with the answers quickly.
We played twice and tried to beat our first time.
We did it!
