  • People see that they can enjoy healthy, happy relationships
It is not too late  to join the Bible Class on Love and Logic led by Amy Bernhardt.  Due to the class size, it will be meeting in the Family Life Center (lower level of the church - the glassed-in room) on Sundays, January 8-March 15, 9:30-10:30.

Grandparents Day

Save the Date: We are inviting all Grandparents or V.I.P. to attend school on March 13, from 8-12.  More information and an invitation to come!

100 Cereal Boxes

We will need 100 empty cereal boxes by January 28th.  Please send in your empty cereal boxes!

Classroom Grocery Store

We will be having a class store to help us learn about money.  If you have any, you may send in an empty box or can to stock our store.

100th Day Celebration

On January 30 at 11:30-3, we will have our first grade 100th day celebration.  If you can help with this day, please email Erin Hoehnher at ehoehner@zionharvester.org.  If we do not get 10 parent volunteers, we will have to cancel this event.

Indepenence
As we are now in Third Quarter,  we will work on preparing for Second Grade.  We will expect them to be more independent.  Be sure to check the Independence Quotient that was sent home in your BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT folder.  You can work on independence at home!  Have you child be more responsible for getting their school things together and if they forget, let them face the consequence here at school.  We want to work with students on helping them solve their own problems.  It is hard to solve a problem if moms and dads solve them before the child has a chance!  For example, if your child forgets the homework folder or gym shoes, please allow the child to solve the problem at school rather than bringing the folder or shoes up to school.  Thanks for your help!

Zoo
Thursday, January 22nd, the zoo will be coming to our classroom.  Due to the cold temperatures, the zoo needed to reschedule their visit.  We look forward to visiting with the animals.

National Lutheran Schools Week

Change War for Pastor Sam and the Christian Resource Center in India:

Valentines Day
We will be making our valentine boxes here at school.  Each child may bring Valentines to hand out.  If you choose to do so, please include a Valentine for each child in our class.  PLEASE NO CANDY.  This year, we are asking that you DO NOT send candy to school with the Valentines, due to our peanut policy.  We are working on keeping all of our children safe.   Our party will be on February 13th.  Email me if you can help from 1-3.  We are also collecting gently used coats and shoes to send to FISH.  They sent me a personal card recently letting me know how appreciative they were of us donating in the fall.  They can still use our help!
