It's the last order of the school year!  Books are great for 
the summer!  Because I want to make sure the books get to

VBS (Vacation Bible School)
You are invited to attend Zion's VBS.  June 9-13, 9am -12pm.  
This is great and fun week where the children will learn about 
Jesus and His love for us.
Registration forms came home in your child's folder.

Library Books
All library books must be returned by Wednesday, May 7th.  If 
your child has misplaced a book, you can pay for a replacement.  
Just ask for a cost.

Six Flags - Read to Succeed
If you participated in the Read to Succeed program, your child's 
ticket is in the Friday Folder.

Week of the Young Child
Students in PDO - grade 2 will celebrate this special week May 5th 
through May 9th.
Special dress days include:  
Monday: Sports shirt Day - wear a sport shirt of a favorite team.
Tuesday: Favorite Color Day
Wednesday: Spirit Day - Wear red and white or Zion wear
Thursday: Stripes Day
Friday: Mismatched Day

The Magic House came to do activities with us 
that helps us understand how to care for our earth!



We learned about water filtration.  We filtered dirty 
water to make it clean.





We learned about recycling paper.  
We even made paper!





We learned about water pollution and how oil 
hurts birds.  We learned about oil spill clean up and 
then we cleaned up an oil spill.





 We learned about sorting trash at the dump using 
electric magnets.  This helps pull out and separate 
trash.





We learned how to reduce waste.





The /oi/oy/ Soundlike oink!



We made a list of words with /oi/oy/ and wrote them on our pig snouts. 



We played a game with /oi/oy/ words.



And ate Chips Ahoy!
