THANK YOU to the moms and dads who chaperoned the field trip! Even though we got a little wet and our outdoor lunch didn't go as expected we had a great time seeing and learning about plants.
Collecting
I am collecting cleaned foam trays! Often you get them when you buy pre-wrapped fruits or veggies (Aldi's, Trader Joes, etc.) I will take them!
Bobcat Coupons
You have probably seen your child bring home one or two Bobcat coupons this year. The children receive these if they have collected 20 tickets. If your child picks the Hermit Crabs coupon, please email me a date that you would like to take the hermit crabs home and I will have them ready. They are very easy to care for and you can pick a date that is a weekday, weekend, or even a holiday - depending on how long you are willing to watch over them. If you do not feel comfortable, just have your child return the coupon and he/she can pick a new one.
Leveled Reading Books
The boys and girls will bring home a Leveled Reading book on Monday. This is a book they can read throughout the week and return on Friday. Reading these books builds fluency and confidence.
Bobcat Shuffle 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
A 5K and 1 mile fun walk/run will be held on October 19th. The younger children can walk to the playground, and some special treats will be handed out as well. Over 80 registrations so far, it looks to be a wonderful event! Register in the school office or online at www.eventcow.org, then search for Zion5K Race/1K Fun Run.
