News and Notes:
Back To School Night
Thank you for coming to Back to School Night! I know there was A LOT of information but I am sure that it will help you have a better understanding as your child goes through our Balanced Literacy program and the first grade year. Please read through the Back To School Night information folder as I wasn't able to go into all of the details that are included. If you have any questions please contact me. If you were unable to make it, please let me know and I can give you an information folder.
I forgot to mention that the cafeteria no longer accepts change for milks. Money must be put into your child's account. You can send in a check or use the online service.
Also, please return the Homework Contract after filling it out with your first grader.
Spelling
We took our first spelling test today and you can see the results in your child's Friday Folder. This was a practice test so your child will know what to expect. Next week will be the real thing, so please look over how the spelling test is assessed. The sentence must have all words spelled correctly, begin with a capital letter and end with an ending mark. Please practice with your child to use all lower case letters except for the beginning of the sentence.
Room Cleaners
Room Cleaners
Thank you for those who volunteered to clean the room. I hope to have the schedule done and emailed to you next week.
School Supplies
Please make sure your child has all the supplies needed at school. Some children are missing headphones, the binder, and many are missing an old sock to use as an eraser for our dry erase boards.
