News and Notes:

Thanksgiving Food Drive
On Wednesday, Nov. 14th, the students can bring in canned or boxed goods to provide Thanksgiving dinners to 30 seminarians.  Our offerings will go to buy the turkeys.  What a great way to help support our Pastors!

Cup Stacking World Record Day
On Thursday, Nov 15th, we will be participating in breaking the world record of people stacking cups on one day.  We will be stacking cups at 1:30!  Please make sure your child has their gym shoes.  If you can help Mrs. Steinbacher with the first graders, please email her: msteinbacher@zionharvester.org

School Assembly
We will have an all school assembly to kick off the winter sports and the winner of the auction fundraiser will cut Mr. Marolf's hair!

Artsonia
I am working on uploading to Artsonia so you can view your child's latest artwork.  We made a silhouette Nativity for Christmas since Artsonia has some special sales coming up: Oct 29th - a sale on canvas prints and magnets, Nov 12th - a sale on greeting cards, Nov 26th- a sale on ornaments and mugs, Dec 3rd - a sale on stocking stuffers.  Your child's artwork makes a great Christmas gift!

Thanking our Community
I want our children to have the opportunity this year to thank those who work in our community to provide for us and keep us safe. Next week, we will be making a GIANT Thank you card to take to the Fire Station just down the street.  On Friday, Nov. 16th right after school, I will drive over there to deliver our Thank you card and wish them a Happy Thanksgiving.  If anyone would like to drive their first grader and meet me over there right after school that day, please let me know.  I would also like to take the firefighters a special treat.  If anyone is willing to make cookies, or brownies, etc. to take over there with our GIANT card, they would really appreciate that too!  Please let me know!

Gluesticks
Your first grader may have used up his/her gluestick.  Please check with your child periodically as they forget to tell you when they are not at school.  Thank you!
