Easter Plays

We practiced several times this week! Please continue to work on the reading parts (everyday) and a simple costume for your child. We will keep practicing next week!

Early Release

On April 10th, there will be an inservice for the teachers. The students will be released at noon. Please sign up for after care if needed!

Emotional Regulation

Emotional Regulation is HUGE for success in life. We begin to teach these skills as soon as children enter school, here at Zion, and if they don't have these skills down, it affects all other areas of learning. These are the skills on our report card. Lisa Cooseman, co-owner and OT of Leaps and Bounds, recently wrote a blog about emotional regulation and they have a free parent seminar coming up on this topic. It can be helpful for parents! Week of the Young Child

Next week, ELP - Grade 2 are invited to celebrate THE WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD! If students in K-2 decide not to participate, he/she would wear regular standardized dress.

4/8 - Music Monday - FAVORITE COLOR DAY - Wear your favorite color from head to toe! Jeans optional. We will be making a musical instrument and playing it with 1B.

4/9 - Tasty Tuesday - SPIRIT DAY - Show your Bobcat pride and wear red, white and black. Jeans optional. We will be making a friend ship salad. Please bring in one cup of cut up fruit to add to our Friendship Fruit Salad!

4/10 - Work Together Wednesday - SPORTS/ATHLETIC DAY - Wear your favorite team or workout gear. Jeans optional. STEM activities with 1B.

4/11 - Artsy Thursday - MISMATCH DAY - How wacky and tacky will your outfit be?! We will have a collaborative art project with all early childhood classrooms.

4/12 - Family Friday - PAJAMA DAY - Wear your pjs to school! We will pray for your family's prayer requests. Information will be sent home at the start of the week!

Spring Musical

Here is the information regarding this year’s musical on Thursday, May 9th:
1) We will have a dress rehearsal at 2:00 p.m on Thursday, May 9th in the church sanctuary for Zion students and any family members that want to attend.
2) The musical will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9th. Please bring your child to the church basement at 5:45 p.m. Teachers will arrive at 5:45 p.m. so please do not send your child down any earlier.
3) Dress for that Friday:
School Day: Regular uniform
6 p.m. performance: red Zion t-shirt and khaki bottoms (shorts, pants, or skirts)
4) Teachers are anticipating that students are at both performances. Please let your child's teacher know if your child will not be attending both performances.
