News and Notes:
No Spelling
Due to Advent service practices, we will not have spelling tests for the rest of this month. We will focus on what we have learned and review.
Advent Speaking Part
Your child's Advent Speaking part was sent home last week! This needs to be memorized and said by next week. However, we will start practicing saying our part in front of the other first graders and second graders too, so please practice with your first grader. Have your child practice saying the part loud and slow and with expression.
Advent Service
First and Second grades will lead an Advent Service on December 20th at 10am ad 7pm. This is when they will say their speaking part so it is crucial each student is there to help lead our worship that day and evening. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOUR CHILD CANNOT MAKE IT! We will begin practicing for our service next week. We have already been learning our songs! Please have your child in the church basement that night at 6:50pm.
Christmas Service Project
On December 22nd, we will travel to Harvester Christian Church to work in their food pantry. A permission form and sign up for chaperones will come home next week!
Kids Helping Kids
The fifth graders are trying to make a difference for one family whose 5 year old daughter is diagnosed with cancer. The students will be selling hot chocolate to raise money to buy for the family of 7. Hot chocolate will be sold Tuesday and Wednesday next week after lunch. Kids can buy a cup for $1.
