News and Notes:

Thanksgiving Food Drive
For the Chapel Offering this week, we are collecting STUFFING and POTATOES for the Seminarians and their families.  Any monies will be used toward purchasing turkeys.  Many seminarians do not get to see their families at Thanksgiving.  We can help them enjoy a delicious dinner by donating from the many blessings God has given us!

Advent Service
Mark your calendars: The first and second graders will lead an Advent service on December 14th at 10:00am for our school, and 7:00pm for our church and families.  I will send home individual speaking parts next week so that it can be practiced for Memory Work.

Substitute Teacher
We will have Mrs. Masa, our former literacy coach, sub on Friday, November 18th.  I am in a friends wedding in Cincinnati, OH so will need to get there for the rehearsal.

Cup Stacking Practice in PE

Mrs. Helpmkamp came in to teach us how to
create a digital background for our Peter Max art

Good writers work with partners.
We practiced telling our partner our story
and asking questions so that we do not leave
out important details.

Then we sketched our ideas!

Creating digital backgrounds

We talked about David & Goliath in Jesus Time.
We discussed how God fought the battle for David even though he was afraid.  God fights our battles for us too!  We came up with fears and glued them down on a sign as tall as Goliath.
We prayed a Thank you that God remains with us and continues to help us get through our fearful times.

Mr. Debrick read us a book in the library.

We learned about Veterans Day and
what a veteran is.
Veteran Sergeant Tyler came in to talk about what it was like when he was deployed to Iraq and Kuwait.

He showed us Iraqi writing.

And the food they ate called an MRE - Meals Ready to Eat.

He also brought his grandfathers rifle that was used in
World War ll when he was in the Air Force.

Thank you for serving, to all veterans!

We practiced Counting on using Dice!

We made graphs to see which number

Thank you to all who protect our country!
