(Dress like your favorite character in a storybook - not a Halloween character).
Change War May 2-6
Our theme this year is "Blessed to Serve." God blesses us with so much so our job of showing His love here on earth never ends. One way we can serve others is by helping those in need. A local family recently lost their home and all of their possessions in a house fire and needs out help.
LET'S HAVE A CHANGE WAR!
Please bring in your change to add positive amounts to our class's total and you can can add paper money to other class's milk jugs to subtract from their money totals. Collected monies will be given to the family in need. The Change War will take place May 2-6. Thank you for your generosity!
Miss Sherman says Goodbye
Our student teacher, Miss Sherman, has finished her time here with us at Zion and will go home to graduate. She will return next school year as a preschool teacher here at Zion so saying Goodbye is just for the summer. :-) We will miss her when she leaves and pray for her as she transitions to this area over the summer.

Mrs. Helmkamp came in and taught us how to use a new app:
Chatterpix
Writing Non-fiction stories
Learning the LAST of our
math facts for First Grade
For Secretary's Day, we made Mrs. Schmidt a big sign
We practiced asking questions while we are reading -
It will help us understand the story!
If we had questions, we put them in the
I WONDER box.
We each brought something in to show possession
We practiced writing each of our names with that
we brought to show possession
We played Match Up with our new math facts
We said Goodbye to Miss Sherman
We made her a book that told
what we like about her.
We also gave her some Bible Story books
to use when she has her own classroom.
We'll miss you, Miss Sherman!
