News and Notes:

Send in a Rock
Please have your child bring in a rock about the size of his/her fist for an upcoming art project next week.  Your first grader will need the rock by Wednesday.  Please put in a baggie and label with your child's name.

First Grade Sings
First graders sing at the 8am service on Sunday, April 26th.  Please be in the upper music room to warm up by 7:40.

Social Studies Family Traditions
The paper that was sent home earlier this week needs to be turned in by Monday, April 20th.  Please help your child complete the information with a favorite family tradition.  Thank you!

Lutheran High Fine Arts Festival
The Lutheran High Fine Arts Festival is April 25 from 8-12 pm.  Our Kandinsky inspired concentric circles will be on display.  Feel free to check it out!

Milestone Class
There is a Milestone 6 class coming up on Sunday, April 26th.  Any child that is 6 or 7 years old is eligible to attend. The focus of this class is for 6/7 year olds and their parents to learn how to keep this age group involved in worship.   This is a 1 week class during the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:30 a.m.). This Milestone concludes with the 6/7 year olds and their parents being presented a worship bag during the following week’s worship service. Parents will need to RSVP to Sara Kuhlmann, Director of Early Childhood at skuhlmann@zionharvester.org to attend this class. 

Week of the Young Child
Students in PDO-2nd grade will celebrate Week of the Young Child on May 4th-8th.  During this week, we celebrate the blessing of young children, especially all of the young children here at Zion!  As part of the celebration, there will be optional dress-up days this week.  The themes are listed below:

Monday:  Sports Shirt Day-wear a sports shirt of their favorite team
Tuesday:  Favorite Color Day
Wednesday:  Spirit Day - Wear red or white or Zion wear
Thursday:  Stripes Day
Friday:  Mismatched Socks Day

Please remember that these dress-up days are optional!  If your child chooses not to participate, he/she should be in Zion standardized dress (K-2nd grade).  If your child participates, he/she doesn't have to be in standardized dress.  It should be a fun week!


Primary Grade Musical
Primary Grade Musical May 8, 2015.  Our class will be participating the the Spring Musical, Adam's Apple.  Plan on attending Friday May 8 at 7:00.  If your child cannot attend, please email Mrs. Crumrine: kcrumrine@zionharvester.org.  More information to come next week about costumes and props.
