News and Notes:

Ten Stars
The first graders have earned another 10 stars!  They voted to celebrate by each bringing a snack to eat at school anytime they want.  Please allow your child to bring a snack to school to enjoy whenever they would like.  Great job first graders!

Achievement Testing
Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep, eats a healthy breakfast and arrives to school on time.  This is the first time the students will be experiencing this type of testing.  It is important that they learn the process and get used to this type of evaluation tool, although in first grade the accuracy of the assessment may be compromised due to the limited exposure to this type of test.  The test is another tool to help assess students achievement.  It is good to practice taking these types of tests and will give some sort of a baseline for future years.  We will be spending a lot of time this week talking and learning about taking tests as well as actually taking the achievement tests.  We always stress to "just do your best."  Please don't put any pressure on your child about this test.

Report Cards
Report Cards are in the Friday Folders.  If you have any question please contact me.

Parent Conference
I will be email some parents that I would like to meet for a conference.  I want to offer to have a conference with anyone who would like to meet.  Please send me an email if you would like to meet.
