Friday Folders
I greatly apologize, but I forgot to send home the Friday folders due to the busy-ness of our day! We had so much fun at our Valentines Day Party, that we rushed out the door at the end and I hadn't passed them out. I will send them home on Tuesday.
Six Flags Reading Program
Six Flags reading is due FEBRUARY 23rd. You may turn them in as soon as you finish.
Science Test
Mrs. Bernhardt will have the test on CHAPTER 8 - pages 262-291. The book came home Thursday. Your child needs to be able to write one fact about one planet. Look in the Friday folder to find a planet book your child made with facts. (The Friday Folder will come home Tuesday - I'm Sorry!)
School Supplies
Please check with your first grader regarding his/her school supplies. Many of the children do not have working markers and dry-erase markers; or have lost crayons or the "always needed" pink eraser. These are things we use a lot at school and we seem to spend a lot of time looking around for things to use.
Early Arrival
Please remember that the children are welcomed into the classroom when the bell rings at 7:45am. If students arrive before that time, they should go down to the gym. They can change into their PE shoes and play inside, or they can hang around just outside the gym doors and engage in cup stacking, read, or talk with other students. For teachers, every minute before school starts is precious prep time for the day; and because teachers are in and out of the room getting things ready, early arrivers would be unsupervised in the classroom. Please remind your child to go to the gym if it's before 7:45. Thank you for your support!

Thank you so much to all of our parent helpers at Jump Rope for Heart! It's a wonderful event for the kids that promotes healthy living!

Summer Camp
Summer camp is coming up. Please be sure to enroll your children by the beginning of March to ensure your spot. There are enrollment packets in the office and on our Zion webpage. If you have any questions, please e-mail summercamp@zionharvester.org
Wednesday the 18th is Ash Wednesday, and begins Zion’s 3:30 (and 7:00pm) Lenten services. Congregation members will be coming for the 3:30 service as school is being dismissed. The handicapped parking spots outside the church entrance and in front of Jr. High should be kept open for these service goers. Thank you for NOT parking in these handicap spots for after school pick up.
Box Top Contest
It's time to clip to win! Bring in your Box Tops to your teacher or to the bus labeled with your classroom. The classroom who brings in the most box tops between Feb 9-20 will win a treat!
