Supplies
We have MANY students who are low on supplies. Many children do not have many crayons left and many are out of glue sticks. Please check with your child to see if they have the supplies they need for the school day.
Scholastic Book Order
Book orders magazines were sent home in the Friday folder last week. Orders will be due January 15th. Please go online to order your books. The class activation code is GVN8W. Go to this link when ordering: https://orders.scholastic.com/GVN8W
Donuts for Dads
Wednesday, January 16th, please join us from 7:00-7:45 in the church basement for a donut breakfast. Dads are invited to stay for Chapel at 8:05-8:50.
Field Trip
Friday, January 18th is our field trip to the Florissant Civic Center to see the play Charlotte's Web. We will have an early sack lunch in our rooms and will travel by bus. The chaperones for this field trip are Jennie Raithel and Matthew Hay. We will leave around 11:15 and return at 2:30. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD WEAR THEIR RED SHINE FIELD TRIP SHIRT AND UNIFORM BOTTOMS!
NLSW Sing in Church
On Saturday, January 26th at 5:00 pm, the first graders sing in church to help celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week.
100th Day Celebration
On Friday, February 1st, we need many parent helpers to help prep and run centers. Adrienne Collins (1B Parent) is graciously planning this day for us. Please email her if you can help. adriennemiller2@hotmail.com
Grandparents Day
Save the Date! We invite all Grandparents or VIPs to attend school on March 8th, from 8am-12pm. More information and an invitation to come!
Orange Book Bags
Books bags will be sent out again each Tuesday and can be returned the following Monday. Each bag has 5 books. Remember these books are to be read through the week or weekend and returned to school. You can include them as minutes read for the monthly reading log. Please check the bags to make sure all 5 books are in the bag before returning.
Still Collecting
We will need 100 empty cereal boxes (both first grades combined) by February 1st. Please send in your empty cereal boxes. I will also still take clean meat/veggie trays.
100th Day Service Project
As a service project for Lutheran Schools Week we will try to collect 100 baby food jars to donate to THRIVE, a pro-life organization. Baby food jars may be sent in beginning January 28th.
Six Flags Reading Program
We are participating in the Six Flags Reading Program. Check the Friday Folder for a letter explaining the program and a recording sheet. Reading logs are due February 27th.
Auction Round Up
The auction committee is collecting items for the auction. Please bring items next week. The class that brings in the items with the most value will win a field trip to Planet Fun. See the Banner for more details.
